BARS
If you were riding mountain bikes in the late 1980’s you either had a pair of Easton Hyperlight aluminum handlebars or you were nervous. That’s right, the Hyperlight was the only lightweight aluminum bar that was shown to hold up to the rigors of what you might’ve called ‘getting rad’ at the time. These days we continue to blow up what’s possible with new carbon bars, including or 711-mm wide Haven carbon bars that weigh just 170-grams. Gettin’ rad has changed, but Easton bars haven’t….they’re still tough, light and category defining.
taperwall
Defined: TaperWall technology infuses our tubing with the unique performance characteristics revered by cycling enthusiasts and world-class athletes alike. Our computer-modulated draw benches allow us to create multiple tapers in the same tube, so the tube walls can be reinforced anywhere along their length with incredible precision. The result is jeweler-smooth walls that eliminate the stress points typical of other manufacturer’s tubing. Strength, weight, fatigue life, and responsiveness are all enhanced.
Easton also applies TaperWall technology to out carbon components. This enables us to apply more material to wall surfaces where stiffness is paramount and less material to areas requiring more compliance.
Advantage: Radically enhanced strength and durability and less weight. Lively, responsive ride quality and improved shock absorption.
