EC90 SL TAPER
A TRUE UPGRADE
The supersized EC90 SL Taper fits the latest crop of frames with tapered head tubes. Like all forks in the EC90 family, the new SL Taper incorporates Easton’s unique ITT™ Internal Thread Technology, which eliminates slippage and possible steer tube damage caused by traditional expanding steer tube plugs. Any rider will feel confident knowing that the EC90 SL Taper features one-piece continuous carbon monocoque construction and R.A.D.-equipped steerer tube. This fork accommodates 1 1/2” lower crown races and 1 1/8” upper races. Additionally, the ITT™ anchor nut makes for easy headset adjustments and eliminates slippage or steerer tube damage.

INTERNAL THREAD TECHNOLOGY (ITT)
INTERNAL THREAD TECHNOLOGY (ITT)
Defined: Carbon steer tubes with a layer of high strength epoxy-infused internal threads, eliminate the need for heavy, clumsy internal expander plugs that can slip or damage steer tubes. ITT threads are capable of withstanding 2500 ft/lbs without pulling out.
Advantage: Lighter, stiffer, stronger fork/steer tube system, and easier headset setup and adjustment. Found on: Easton EC90 level forks with carbon steer tubes.
RELIEF AREA DESIGN (RAD)
RELIEF AREA DESIGN (RAD)
Defined: A flat spot running the length of Easton steer tubes and seat posts, corresponding with the clamp zone of stems and seatpost clamps. Removing material in these critical zones prevents clamping forces from pinching and damaging carbon tubing.
Advantage: Increased durability with no weight penalty.
TAPERWALL™ TECHNOLOGY
TAPERWALL™ TECHNOLOGY
Defined: TaperWall technology infuses our tubing with the unique performance characteristics revered by cycling enthusiasts and world-class athletes alike. Our computer-modulated draw benches allow us to create multiple tapers in the same tube, so the tube walls can be reinforced anywhere along their length with incredible precision. The result is jeweler-smooth walls that eliminate the stress points typical of other manufacturer’s tubing. Strength, weight, fatigue life, and responsiveness are all enhanced.
Easton also applies TaperWall technology to out carbon components. This enables us to apply more material to wall surfaces where stiffness is paramount and less material to areas requiring more compliance.
Advantage: Radically enhanced strength and durability and less weight. Lively, responsive ride quality and improved shock absorption.
